The Popinator
Everyone eats popcorn the same way. Regardless of taste, flavor, or brand. So why the need for innovation? Who would want to invent something that already has a stable market and consumer? Popcorn Indiana thought differently. You be the judge whether this innovation was a complete flop or yet another genius innovation. My vote is going towards the latter.
So Tell Me About this Machine..
The Popinator is a a hands-free, voice controlled popcorn launching machine. Once the user utters the word "Pop" the machine uses human like technology to sense the direction and distance it is from its consumer. Launching a single kernel in the user's direction; it makes near perfect aim. Some adjusting may be required; however, its main appeal is entertainment. The real question is, why? Are we as consumers getting more lazy and feel the need to have things given to us at our finger tips? Will this change in entertainment change the way in which we snack, communicate, or socialize as a species? And more importantly, what next? A flying piece of pre-cut steak? Way more questions than answers can be given on this product review. Chances are that many users seem to feel the same way as I have seen little action or growth into this market by Fortune 500 companies that have both the means and time to invest in a project this size. Good luck Popinator. May the technology advancements and innovative ideas be ever in your favor. Just remember that everyone eats popcorn the same way and trying to come up with a fancy, expensive machine to do it may be both a waste of money and time; but, also an easy way to get 'Poped'!
